PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Assist production personnel to maintain a safe and healthy environment by monitoring, evaluate and report on Ventilation and Occupational Hygiene and make applicable recommendations
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Grade 12/ Equivalent with Mathematics and Physical Science is essentialIntermediate Certificate in Mine Environmental Control will be advantageous2 years underground experience (Trackless Mining), of which stoping, and development preferred is essentialCo-ordinate the activities of Ventilation Construction and Sanitation crewsA valid medical certificate or medically fit in order to obtain such a certificate
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

The successful candidate is responsible to:

Assist in coordinating the activities of Ventilation Construction and Sanitation crews.Monitor and control the installation and commissioning ventilation systems.Monitor underground occupational exposure conditions regarding dust control, air, gases and vapour, noise, water, temperature, illumination and pressure.Monitor and control ventilation sampling, testing and make recommendation for improvement.Monitor and manage the sanitation and sterilization methods in the workplace.Monitor ventilation and occupational hygiene engineering controls.Measure and calculate the performance of main fans.Conduct audits and write reports.Compile ventilation and occupation hygiene reportsMonitor environmental conditions and report writing.
