About the job Analytical Engineer (12- months contract)

We’re looking for an experienced Analytical Engineer to join a leading financial services organisation on a 12-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a modern data environment, partnering with business and technology teams to deliver trusted, high-quality data that drives strategic decision-making.
Job responsibilities
Translate business requirements into structured, analytics-ready datasets.
Analyse, profile, validate, and transform large volumes of enterprise data.
Design and maintain robust data models using Data Vault 2.0 and dimensional modelling techniques.
Develop advanced SQL queries for data transformation, validation, and reporting.
Ensure data quality, governance, and consistency across analytical solutions.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, and solution architects to deliver trusted data products.
Support reporting, business intelligence, and advanced analytics initiatives.
Identify opportunities to improve data processes, standards, and governance.
Role requirements
5+ years’ experience in Data Analysis within enterprise environments.
5+ years’ experience in Data Modelling, including Data Vault 2.0
and dimensional modelling.
5+ years’ experience working with Data Governance principles.
Advanced SQL skills with strong experience in data transformation, profiling, and validation.
Experience translating business requirements into technical data solutions.
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Ability to bridge business and technical teams to deliver high-quality data solutions.
Nice to Have
Experience with Azure Data Platform and Databricks.
Exposure to enterprise data warehouses and modern cloud data platforms.
Knowledge of Governance, Risk and Controls.
Understanding of project management principles.
Business writing and documentation skills.
Previous experience within the banking or financial services sector will be advantageous.
