About the role
We’re looking for a driven and hands-on Area Lead to take ownership of agent performance, customer experience, and sales growth within your assigned region. This role plays a critical part in expanding our footprint by building high-performing teams, strengthening agent capability, and identifying new market opportunities.
What you’ll be doing
Drive sales growth and brand presence
Execute sales and growth strategies across your region
Lead activations and support marketing campaigns on the ground
Represent and uphold the Mukuru brand in all interactions
Engage customers and provide product guidance and support
Lead and support agent teams
Manage and support team leaders and field agents to achieve targets
Conduct site visits and audits to ensure quality and compliance
Address escalations and resolve operational challenges
Work closely with HR and management on team-related matters
Build and develop agent capability
Identify and recruit new agent opportunities within your territory
Support onboarding, system setup, and training delivery
Upskill agents through ongoing coaching and performance feedback
Monitor and improve performance
Track individual and team performance against targets
Lead weekly performance discussions and team engagement sessions
Coach teams toward achieving stretch goals and improved productivity
Manage marketing and operational support
Ensure availability and distribution of marketing materials
Maintain stock of branded collateral and support campaign execution
What you need to succeed
Qualifications & experience
Grade 12 (Matric) required
Diploma or Advanced Certificate advantageous
At least 1 year of experience in a sales or field-based role
Experience in financial services or training environments is a plus
Knowledge & skills
Strong understanding of sales and marketing principles
Familiarity with customer onboarding and KYC processes
Confident communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to analyse performance and drive improvements
