PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Electrician is responsible to provide a technical service to a section or unit. Designs, installs, maintains and repairs electrical systems and products used in the business.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Grade 12/Matric (with mathematics and Physical Science)/NQF 4 is requiredCertified component as an Electrician. Trade test (Section 13/Section 26D) is requiredMedium Voltage Certified is required. Substation maintenance3 Years Electrician experience in underground mining is required3 Years’ experience conventional mining is advantageousCertificate of FitnessValid Driving License

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide input to the planning process within the area of control and execute the approved plan in accordance with policies, procedures and processes to ensure achievement of production targets.Maintain a safe and productive workplace.Compile and complete accurate reports including safety, injury, hazard, risk and incident reports: shift and work order reports and as hoc reports.Make materials and equipment available for the shift requirements.Co-ordinate multi-task team members to complete assigned work tasks or orders.Comply with MHSA requirements.Underground MV and LV distribution.Identifies and recommends initiatives aimed at eliminating waste, improving productivity and reducing operating costs within scope and assists with the implementation thereof to contribute to the achievement of operational objectives.Provides relevant support to stakeholders to ensure team objectives are achieved.Adheres to safety regulations and mine standards, procedures and practices and reports non-compliance.Performs regular inspections in area of work and report hazards to ensure environment is safety and hazard free.
