Role & Responsibilities
Electrical distribution design for mining, data centres, water treatment and battery storage plants
Earthing and lightning protection studies and design
Motor starting and protection design.
Preparation of the technical content of enquiry documentation typically including a scope description, technical specification, drawings, datasheets and Bills of Quantity (BOQ)
Performs complex engineering, design, calculations, analysis and review of design documents when required
Audits, inspections, factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing
On site quality inspections and commissioning activities as required
Minimum requirements
10 – 15 years’ suitable experience on industrial and/or renewable electrical applications, with electrical/mechatronic tertiary qualification
Professional registration with ECSA
Experience in design and construction supervision of
LV Switchgear and LV plant reticulation
MV switchgear, protection and MV plant reticulation
LV and MV motor starting
Earthing and lightning protection
Harmonics and power quality
Diesel generators and/or SSEG experience advantageous
Experience with ETAP and/or DigSilent is preferable
A team player that is willing to collaborate across multiple disciplines or design teams
Commitment in resolution of complex issues and knowledge of industry standards.
Familiarity with BIM and standardisation of workflows are advantageous
