About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Junior Trainee Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. In this entry-level role, you will primarily assist with financial record keeping, reporting, and various accounting tasks, providing essential support to our accounting operations. Key Responsibilities
– Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
– Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
– Help reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies.
– Support the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices.
– Assist with payroll processing and related documentation.
– Provide administrative support to senior accountants, including data entry and filing.
– Collaborate with team members on month-end and year-end closing activities.
– Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Requirements
– A relevant degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
– Demonstrable experience with basic accounting principles and practices.
– Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software.
– Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
– Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
– Experience with accounting software such as Sage or Pastel is a plus.
– Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance is desirable.
– Willingness to obtain further accounting certifications (e.g., SAIPA, ACCA) in the future.
– A proactive attitude towards learning and self-improvement.
