Ocean Freight Export Controller

DHL Global Forwarding has an opening Ocean Freight Export Controller in Johannesburg, South Africa. Join us in connecting people and improving lives! Job Purpose:
To co-ordinate, control, plan and manage all aspects within the export procedure. The export controller is a vital link within the supply chain process and must have extensive knowledge on both local and destination requirements.
In this Ocean Freight Export Controller position To arrange bookings based on customer requirements with various nominated third parties to ensure customer needs are met To process customer documentation within a required timeframe in accordance to third party and local requirements i.e. customs, shipping lines To co-ordinate movement of cargo within required/stipulated time frames in order to meet customer needs To manage and monitor all parties within the supply chain To develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and customers Support Operations Supervisor with the implementation of new/change of systems, directives and distribution of information to staff Build and maintain relationships Book shipment with shipping line / co-loader based on customer SLI Register shipment on internal system Arrange customs clearance based on customer documentation Arrange collection / packing of customer cargo Supply shipping line with bill of lading instructions Produce cargo dues through portent Send SOB / Pre alerts to customer / destination offices Disposal of documents Invoice shipment based on estimate or rate agreements To produce thorough and accurate documentation ensuring customer satisfaction and compliance to regulations Supply estimates on customer request To participate within the department with regards to industry or regulation changes Customs rules and regulations Country rules and regulations local and destination Hazardous Process
Now, here is what we need from you! Experience: Minimum 3-5 years related working experience Regulation knowledge – SARS, road transport Cargowise experience Customer focused Microsoft Office applications Communication skills – written and spoken Interpersonal skills Influencing skills Negotiation skills Planning and organizing skills Education: Matric, Preferable tertiary education including diploma an advantage
