GRADE C – SECURITY OFFICER (3 MONTHS CONTRACT

About the Role
We are seeking a diligent Security Officer on a 3-month contract to ensure the safety and security of our premises and personnel. You will be responsible for monitoring activities, controlling access, and responding to emergencies, all while maintaining a visible and reassuring presence.

Key Responsibilities
– Monitor and patrol designated areas to deter and detect security violations.
– Control access to premises by screening visitors and issuing identification badges.
– Respond promptly to alarms and incidents, conducting investigations and reporting findings.
– Maintain detailed records of daily activities and any unusual occurrences.
– Collaborate with law enforcement agencies as necessary during incidents.
– Ensure adherence to safety protocols and emergency procedures.
– Provide assistance and information to employees and visitors as needed.
– Conduct regular inspections of security equipment and report any issues for repair.

Requirements
– Valid Grade C Psira certificate
– Proven track record in a security-related role or similar capacity.
– Strong observational skills and the ability to respond effectively in crisis situations.
– Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey information clearly.
– Familiarity with security systems and surveillance equipment.
– Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as required.

Preferred Qualifications
– Certification in security or related fields (e.g., PSIRA registration).
– Experience in conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques.
– First aid and CPR certification.
– Knowledge of emergency response and safety protocols.
