Receiving Manager

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The Receiving Manager is responsible for overseeing all receiving operations to ensure that incoming goods, materials, and supplies are received accurately, inspected, recorded, and stored efficiently. The role ensures compliance with company policies, inventory control procedures, safety regulations, and quality standards while leading the receiving team to achieve operational excellence.Manage and supervise all receiving activities for incoming stock, materials, and equipmentVerify deliveries against purchase orders, invoices, and delivery notesEnsure accurate counting, inspection, and recording of received goodsInvestigate and resolve discrepancies, shortages, damages, and delivery errorsCoordinate unloading and movement of goods to designated storage locationsSupervise, train, and develop receiving staffAllocate daily workloads and monitor employee performancePromote teamwork, accountability, and productivity within the receiving departmentConduct performance evaluations and provide coaching where requiredLiaise with suppliers, transport providers, procurement teams, and internal departmentsCommunicate delivery schedules and receiving issues promptlySupport operational planning and continuous improvement initiativesPrepare and submit receiving, inventory, and performance reportsMonitor receiving KPIs and recommend process improvementsMaintain accurate records for audits and compliance purposesStrong knowledge of receiving, warehousing, and inventory control proceduresExcellent leadership and team management skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesGood communication and interpersonal skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and inventory management softwareAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsREQUIREMENTS: MatricDegree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or similarMinimum of 3–5 years’ experience in warehouse receiving, inventory control, or logistics operationsAt least 2 years’ supervisory or management experienceFIFO and FEFO understandingWMS experience
